The Kongu Engineering College known as (KEC), Erode is one of the old engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu, established in 1984. The institute has an affiliation with Anna University and has been accredited with grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). KEC offers three UG courses which include BE, BTech and BSc as well as five PG courses including ME, MTech, MBA and MSc and MCA.

Admission Process

BE and BTech admissions are based on the cutoff scores of TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission) test. While, admissions to ME, MTech and MCA are based on GATE/ TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) followed by a Group Discussion and PI (GDPI) and counselling is conducted June onwards (tentatively). Admission to MBA is based on a valid score in MAT exam. The admission for PG programmes starts in May.

• Relaxation of 5 per cent is offered in aggregate scores for the qualifying exams, for candidates from MBA/ SC/ DNC/ ST categories
• Candidates who have BCA/ BSc degree in IT/ Computer Science are qualified for direct admission into MCA 2^nd year, through lateral entry
• Students who have GATE score in Life Science/ Engineering Science must appear for TANCET to apply for admission in KEC
