The Formerly known as Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College (SBMJC) in 1990, Jain Deemed-to-be-University is ranked among the top universities located in Bangalore that was established by JGI Group. It was granted the status of a ‘Deemed-to-be-University’ in 2009 and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) awarded it ‘A’ grade in 2017. Also, it was ranked at 85 by NIRF 2020 while its Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), secured 117th position in India. Jain Deemed-to-be-University is a Member of Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) and Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
The deemed-to-be University has five campuses with 6,791 students that are presently mentored by 667 faculty members. It has a sprawling campus of 300 acre that houses 11 student cells. The deemed-to-be University consists of a meticulously designed infrastructure to help students learn effectively. It consists of a centralised library with a capacity of 100 readers along with 1,19,138 books, 12,931 e-books, and 80,951 e-journals. It has advanced laboratories equipped with advanced tools to help students gain practical knowledge with a hands-on approach. Vishwas is one of the stakeholders of Jain Deemed-to-be University for ten years. They have established Vishwas Counselling Centre with a team of psychologists and counsellors available at every campus of the deemed University. Admission Process
Candidates, planning to enrol themselves to UG/ PG/ PhD programmes in any of regular distance learning mode, must register themselves through the online admission portal of Jain Deemed-to-be University. Applicants have to fill the application form with all requisite documents and application forms to get themselves registered. If the application is incomplete or incorrect, Jain Deemed-to-be University has all the right to reject it. Also, applicants are advised to keep a photocopy of the printed application form, for further references.
Admission to all the courses except MPhil and PhD is done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Jain Entrance Test (JET). Candidates willing to seek MPhil/ PhD admission need to have a valid score in CSIR NET/ UGC NET/ JRF. In addition to this, Jain Deemed-to-be University also accepts several national/ state-level entrance exam scores to grant admission. Scholarships
Jain Deemed-to-be University scholarships are only valid for Indian students. To apply, candidates need to obtain and fill the scholarship application form from the admissions office of deemed-to-be-University and submit it to the same office within the deadline. Selected students will receive a scholarship offer letter along with a scholarship acceptance form, which they need to accept or decline within a stipulated time-frame. Failure to do so will make the scholarship offer invalid.
