The Tufts University, Formed in the year 1852,  is a privately-owned higher education institution that focuses on research. It is an associate of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), which was founded by Christian Universalists as a secular institution of higher education. In the year 1852, Charles Tufts offered 20 acres of land as a charity to get the task done. Started as New England Liberal Arts College, it saw its conversion into a bigger research institution in the 1970s.

university is located in Medford and Somerville, Massachusetts, with its main campus located on Walnut Hill which is about 8 km from Boston. This campus offers undergraduate degree programs in arts and sciences, as well as engineering.
