Fill Application Form Online or Offline
Candidates must keep in mind the following instructions before applying for the Tamilnadu Polytechnic 2021 :-
- General admission instructions: The notification for the admission commencement will be released by the directorate at the time of the release of class X (Tamil Nadu) results.
- Candidates falling under the special category reservation have to apply in separate prescribed form to DOTE. All admissions under special reservations will be done only by DOTE.
- The application form received from one institution cannot be used to apply for another institution.
- Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu can only apply through general admission processes.

Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), will release the application forms of Tamilnadu Polytechnic 2021 admissions tentatively around the month of June 2021. The application forms will be available in both online and offline modes. All the eligible aspirants can proceed with the application process by following these simple steps:-
How to fill Tamilnadu Polytechnic Online Application Form 2021
1st Step: Registration- Visit the official website tndte.gov.in
Now register by providing basic details such as name, phone number, email ID, etc. After successful registration, the application number and password details will be communicated on the registered email ID or phone number.
2nd Step: Application form filling: Registered candidates will be able to log in over the students’ dashboard on the official website. Log in to the respective accounts and complete the application by filling up the application form. One will have to fill details such as:-
Personal details address details, academic history etc.
3rd Step: Upload the scanned documents: Candidates will now have to upload a recent scanned photograph and signature. The documents must be uploaded as per the instructions specified, else, the documents won’t be accepted.
4th Step: Payment: Students will now have to make the application fee payment. They will have to pay an amount of Rs 150/- through credit card, debit card or net banking and Rs 165/- through the post.
Students falling under SC/ST category will not have to pay any fee.
5th Step: Now preview the application thoroughly and submit the form. Take a printout of the same for future use.
How to fill Tamilnadu Polytechnic Offline Application Form 2021
Candidates can opt for going offline mode as well.
Here is a stepwise procedure to apply through offline mode:-
1st Step: Go to the designated polytechnic centre to buy the Tamil Nadu 2021 polytechnic application form. They will have to make the required payment likewise.
2nd Step: Now, fill the application and paste a recent passport size photograph at the designated centre.
3rd Step: Self attests the complete application by signing it.
4th Step: Submit the final application within the stipulated date and time.
Merit List
On the basis of one’s performance in the qualifying examinations, a merit list will be prepared. It will display the names of the shortlisted candidates. It is scheduled to be released tentatively around the month of July 2021. The Tamilnadu polytechnic merit list 2021 will be live on the official website www.tndte.com. It will be available in pdf format.
Tie Breaking Situation
In case, there’s a situation tie, the following parameters will be taken into consideration, in order to resolve the same.
Subject Wise Preferences: Scores in individual subjects will be compared. The priority will be given as follows in descending order:-

III. English
IV. Age (elder candidate will be given priority)
Counselling Process
The examination authority will conduct the counselling process tentatively around the month of August 2021. Candidates on the basis of the merit list will be called out for the counselling procedure.

Students will be expected to report to the designated centre as per the schedule allotted to them. On the basis of availability of seats and one’s performance, seats in a particular course and college will be allotted accordingly.
