The University of Chicago,Founded in 1890 is a private research university located in Chicago, the third most populous city in the United States. UChicago has a remarkable distinction of producing 92 Nobel laureates, the largest number affiliated with any American university. The University of Chicago offers over 50 undergraduate majors and more than 40 minors. The university has additional campuses and centers in various cities like Hong Kong, Beijing, Delhi, London, and Paris, and apart from downtown Chicago. UChicago has been consistently ranked not just amongst the top educational institute not just in the US but also across the globe. UChicago’s alumni have been at the forefront in the development of various academic disciplines like economics, law, literary criticism, and sociology.

The campus of the university is built across sprawling 217 acres of land with an urban setting. The total strength of the university is about 16,445 students. The undergraduate program consists of 6,286 students and around 10,159 students are under the postgraduate degree program. The university comprises some well-known centers, laboratories as well as departments, namely Centre for Middle Eastern Studies, Argonne National Laboratory and the United States Department of Energy. These centers and laboratories give students the opportunity to learn about fieldwork within the campus. In addition, some highly ranked and professional learning schools are located at the campus like Pritzker School of Medicine, Chicago Law School, and the Booth School of Business. Researchers at the UChicago have done remarkable work and established revolutionary theories of economics and discovered the link between cancer and genetics.
