The Johns Hopkins University,,Founded in 1876,is a reputed private research university located in Baltimore, Maryland, US. The university has four campuses in Baltimore with satellite campuses in Maryland and a biotech hub north of Washington, DC. Hopkins’ graduate programs include reputed School of Medicine, School of Education, Whiting School of Engineering, highly ranked Bloomberg School of Public Health, and renowned Peabody Institute for music and dance.

  • The university is hailed as the first US research university also, it invests the maximum money into research than any other US educational institution. Popular majors offered by the university are Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience and Neurobiology, and Public Health. With 3,000 international students from 120 countries that account for 20% of the student body, the university offers a truly global and diverse environment. Also, the university has a presence in more than 150 countries globally including Italy, Singapore, France, and Argentina, and offers an extensive study abroad programme.
  • The university has 10 divisions with campuses in Washington D.C. and Maryland with Italy, Singapore, and China as international centers. The Homewood Campus located in Baltimore’s Charles neighborhood has two undergraduate divisions including the Whiting School of Engineering and the Zanvyl Krieger School of the Arts and Sciences. In East Baltimore, there are the medical institutes of the university namely the Bloomberg School of Public Health and the nursing school. The university also comprises various other departments and facilities including the Applied Physics Laboratory, Peabody Institute, Carey Business School, and the Paul H. Niltz School of Advanced International Studies. It is difficult to get into John Hopkins with an acceptance rate of 11%.
