The University of Groningen  Located in Groningen, which is often nicknamed as the City of Talent, in the Netherlands,is predominantly a public research university with a global perspective. Consistently placed among the top 100 universities in the world year after year by numerous raking tables, the University of Groningen also boasts of an extensively rich tradition, which dates back to as early as the seventeenth century, to around 1614, making it the second oldest university in the Netherlands as well after Leiden. Labeled as the place ‘where education meets research’ in the Netherlands, the University of Groningen has been imparting top-tier education and research in a diverse range of subjects for more than four hundred years. More than 200,000 students have graduated from the university since its time of inception and went on to make a mark for themselves in the real world.

The university offers more than 100 Master’s degree programs, specializations, of which over 90 taught in English and more than 50 Bachelor’s degree programs, of which 36 taught in English. The university comprises eleven faculties, branching out into economics and business, theology and religious studies, behavioral and social sciences, arts, law, medical sciences, spatial sciences, science and engineering, philosophy, liberal arts (offered by University College Groningen) and Campus Fryslan. Each of these faculties offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, Ph.D., and exchange programs while some even provide shot certificate courses as well.
