The Shiv Nadar founded Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering in 1996. The higher educational college is affiliated to Anna University and became an autonomous institute in 2018. The college offers 21 courses across Engineering stream at UG as well as PG level.

Admission Process

Admission to 65 per cent of the seats in BE/ BTech courses takes place through single window counselling. The college reserves the remaining 35 per cent seats for management quota. The merit list is prepared completely based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam.

25 seats are reserved for the toppers of governmental schools in rural parts of Tamil Nadu. 25 seats are reserved for the candidates who have impressive academic records. They also should have excelled in sports. For taking admission into ME/ MTech courses a candidate should be a graduate from a university that has been approved by AICTE or UGC. The college also has provisions for lateral admissions and international admissions.

Placements

Over the years, there has been a significant increase in the number of companies who have participated in the on-campus placement drive. In 2019, 172 companies have visited the college campus. About 1023 job offers were made. The highest salary package offered was Rs 61 LPA and the average salary package offered was Rs 5.71 LPA. The key employers were:

Scholarships

The college started the scholarship scheme in 1999. From that time, it has offered scholarships to about 7100 students worth Rs 64 crores. It provides scholarships to meritorious students, students who need financial assistance, students who have performed well in sports. The top ten rank holders of Central Board Examination or State Board Examination of Class 12 and 25 toppers of government schools of rural areas are allowed to study in the undergraduate programmes of the college free of cost. About 50 per cent of the students who take admission in the postgraduate programmes in engineering are also provided with a scholarship.
