The Radboud University was originally found in 1656 and was shut down in 1679 due to insufficient funds. This university has a beautiful nature-friendly campus spread over an area of 100 hectares, which features vast green patches of grasslands and trees. A major portion of the university is also situated inside the Heyendaal Castle.
The campus of this university also features a teaching hospital that goes by the name Radboud University Medical Centre.
