The Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is a public research institution which is located in London, in England. It is also recognized as a constituent college of the federal University of London. It was founded in the year 1785 as the London Medical College. In 1887, it was officially granted the status of a university. Of late, it is a member of the British research universities’ Russell Group, the Association of Commonwealth Universities and Universities UK. It is a global university that boasts of a unique student, research, and public engagement profile delivering teaching and research internationally.
Main campus of the Queen Mary University of London is situated in the Stepney area of Tower Hamlets while its other campuses are situated in Smithfield, Holborn, and Whitechapel. It is organized into 3 faculties that include The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Science and Engineering and Barts. It is a part of the largest academic health science center, UCL Partners, and serves as a major center for medical training and research. It also shares a partnership with the University of Warwick for research and joint teaching of history, computer science, and English undergraduates. Moreover, it collaborates with the University of London for its Global MBA program.
