The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Goa is a premier autonomous technical Institute functioning under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The institute was established in 2010 and declared as an ‘Institute of National Importance’.
NIT Goa offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degree courses/programmes in the field of engineering. NIT Goa was ranked 87 among the 100 Best Engineering Institutes in India in NIRF 2019 rankings and emerged as the best among 11 new NITs. The institute is currently conducting all of its academic activities from its campus while all the other things are managed from a temporary campus.

Courses
The institute offers undergraduate courses in five engineering departments, and postgraduate courses and PhD in three engineering departments. Admissions
NIT Goa admits students to its BTech programme based on their ranks in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and the Direct Admission to Students Abroad (DASA). The intake capacity for each branch offered under the BTech course at the institute is of 30 students.
For MTech Programme, candidates are required to qualify GATE with a good score, followed by Centralized Counselling for MTech Admissions (CCMT). The admission for various courses is based on the following entrance exams.

NIT Goa Placements
In 2019, the BTech programme witnessed a 95% placements overall with 100% placements in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) branch. Renowned companies such as Infosys, Wipro, Reliance, Suzuki Motors, etc. visited the campus for the recruitment of students. The highest package offered in 2019 was Rs 12 LPA and the average was Rs 6.42 LPA.
