The NIT Durgapur Established in 1960, is an Institute of National Importance and one of the first eight regional colleges set up to impart quality education in the field of Engineering. It is spread across 187 acre of land.

In 2003, NIT Durgapur was awarded the status of a deemed university and is recognised by UGC and approved by AICTE. It is a member of AIU and accredited by the NBA. NIT, Durgapur offers BTech, MCA, MSc, MBA, MTech and PhD in various specialisations. The campus features 2,500 boys and 500 girls living in seven boys’ hostels and two girls’ hostels. The annual UG intake is over 1,000 students.The deemed University has collaborated with many national and international institutes, including Acharya Nagarjuna University-Guntur, Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi, Brno University of Technology-Czech Republic, University of Nottingham-UK, Universita Della Calabria-Italy and University of Kentucky-Lexington to name a few.

  • NIT BTech admission is based on JEE Main rank followed by JoSSA counselling
