Management Aptitude Test or MAT is a national level MBA entrance exam for admission to over 800 B-schools across India. As per the recent high court order Maharashtra B-schools will also accept MAT score for admission.
MAT exam is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) four times in a year – February, May, September and December. MAT is the only MBA entrance exam in India that offers the option to appear in Paper Based Test (PBT), Computer Based Test (CBT) and Internet Based Test (IBT) modes. Registration process for MAT 2021 February exams is currently underway and the last date to apply for CBT mode exam is February 14.
The MAT question paper contains 200 MCQs from five subjects – Language Comprehension, Data Analysis & Sufficiency and Mathematical Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Indian & Global Environment. MAT 2021 dates have been announced and the registration process is underway. MAT 2021 CBT will be held on February 20 and PBT will be held March 6. - The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university
- Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply
- Candidates having CA, CS or ICWA are also eligible to apply for MAT exam

MAT 2021 Application Process
MAT 2021 application forms are available on the official website of AIMA-MAT website. The candidates can fill up the forms to appear in the exam by registering on the official website. Check the MAT application process below.
- Log on to AIMA MAT website
- Click on fresh registration tab OR click here: https://mat.aima.in/feb21/register-online
- Enter name, date of birth, email, mobile number and password
- Select state/UT, click on check boxes and submit
- An OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number
- Verify phone number using the OTP and login to complete the MAT registration
- Enter academic and personal details
- Select exam mode, three test cities and five institutes you wish AIMA to send your MAT score to for admission
- Upload photo and signature in prescribed format
- Make payment of MAT application fee
- Download the copy of duly filled application form after submission

MAT Syllabus 2021
Language Comprehension: This section has 40 questions from Verb, Noun, Pronoun, Adjective, Adverb, Antonyms & Synonyms, One Word Substitution, Idioms/Phrases, Vocabulary, Fill in the blanks, Sentence Correction, Para Jumble and Reading Comprehension.
Intelligence & Critical Reasoning: This section carries 40 questions from Analytical and Logical Reasoning topics such as Family Tree, Course of Action, Arrangement, Pie Chart, Calendars, Statement Conclusions, Strong Arguments and Weak Arguments, Puzzles, Series, Blood Relations, Coding & Decoding, Visual Reasoning, Syllogisms and Graphs.
Data Analysis & Data Sufficiency: This section has 40 questions divided into two parts – Data Analysis and Data Sufficiency. The questions as asked from Line Graph, Bar Graph, Caselet, Pie Chart, Data Comparison, Quantitative Comparison and Data Sufficiency.
Mathematical Skills: The Mathematical Skills is the Quantitative Aptitude section of MAT. This section has 40 questions from various topics of Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration and Modern Maths.
Indian & Global Environment: The Indian & Global Environment or GK section of MAT exam has 40 questions from Current Affairs and static GK. This section is to be attempted at the end as its score is not taken into consideration for calculation of MAT percentile.

MAT 2021 Admit Card
MAT admit cards of all the three modes are different and issued on different dates. Registered candidates can download their MAT admit card 2021 from the scheduled date using their login credentials. Check the steps to download MAT 2021 admit card.

MAT admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam centre. Hard copies of MAT admit card are not issued, thus it is important for candidates to download their respective admit cards before the exam day.
MAT 2021 Result
MAT 2021 result cum scorecards will be issued to the candidates online on the AIMA-MAT website. Candidates can download their MAT result cum scorecard from the official website by using their login credentials. Given below are some highlights of MAT result.
- MAT result cum scorecard consists – MAT Scaled Score, MAT Percentile and MAT Composite Score
- While the MAT Composite Score ranges on a scale of 199- 801, MAT Scaled Score ranges on a scale of 0-100 in each section
- The MAT scaled score is converted to MAT percentile on the basis of relative performance of all the candidates who appeared in that particular session
- MAT percentile is calculated out of 160 marks. The score of the Indian and Global Environment is not considered for MAT percentile calculation
- AIMA sends scores of candidates to those five B-schools that they selected in the MAT application form as their preference for MBA admission
