IMU CET stands for Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test. It is conducted by Indian Maritime University for admission of the suitable candidates to Undergraduate (except BBA), Post Graduate and Research programmes. Candidates have to qualify IMU CET 2020 to be eligible for admission. IMU CET 2020 application form is available in online mode from July 01 to August 31. IMU CET has been cancelled for 2020-21 session. The admission will be based on marks obtained in the HSC/PUC/Intermediate examination. The exam authority will issue rank certificate based on the normalization method.

IMU CET 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Meeting the eligibility criteria of IMU CET is the priority. Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria should not apply. It is because the admission authority will not accept their application. Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Entry Admission to BTech (Marine Engineering)
- Candidates should have completed three years Diploma in Marine/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering with minimum 55% from a recognized Institute and 50% marks in English subject in Class 10/Class 12/Diploma examination. Candidates should have completed the Diploma in the stipulated duration of three years or
- Candidates should have completed four years Diploma in Shipbuilding Engineering from a recognized Institute and 50% marks in English subject in Class 10/Class 12/Diploma examination.
Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Entry Admission to BTech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering)
For admission to the second year:
- The age of the candidates should be in between 18 to 26 years.
- Candidates should have completed Diploma in Ship Building Engineering from the Institute of Ship Building Technology, Goa or Diploma in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering from the AMET University, Chennai or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Civil Engineering from any Institute approved by AICTE.
- Candidates should have completed the Diploma within the stipulated time.
- Candidates will get admission based on marks obtained by them.
For admission to the third year:
- Candidates should have completed BSc (Ship Building & Repair) with a minimum of 60% aggregate.
- Candidates have completed the degree in the stipulated period of three years.
- Candidates will get admission based on the percentage of marks secured by them.
- The age of the candidates should be in between 19 to 27 years.
Age Limit
Candidates’ age should be in between 17 years to 25 Years. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) & Schedule Tribe (ST) category will get relaxation of 5 years.

IMU CET 2020 Admission Process
The admission process comprises of the following stages.
- Fill application form (Last Date:30-09-2020)
- Download admit card
- Appear in IMU CET 2020
- Result declaration
Fill IMU CET 2020 Application Form
The interested and eligible candidates can fill IMU CET application form. Fill only correct and valid details in the application form. Any error in the details may lead to the rejection of the application. Candidates have to pay the fee to submit the application form successfully.
Download IMU CET Admit Card 2020
The admission authority will release the admit card for the eligible candidates only. Candidates will be able to download IMU CET admit card by using their login credentials. Without admit card, no candidate will get permission to appear in the exam.
Appear in IMU CET 2020
Candidates who want to take admission should appear in IMU CET 2020. The exam will be conducted in online mode at the various exam centre across the country.
IMU CET 2020 Result Declaration
IMU CET result will be released after a few days of the examination. Candidates who will qualify the exam will get the call for appearing in the further admission process.
