The Hyderabad (IIITH) International Institute of Information Technology, is a well-recognized institution for higher education. It was established in the year 1998 as a not-for-profit private partnership and is the first IIIT across the country under this model. Over the years, the institution has evolved research programmes in a variety of areas, with a focus on technology and applied research. It offers several bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs. The institute was ranked 82 among universities in India by the NIRF in 2019, 38 among engineering colleges and in the 101–150 band overall.

Admission Process
For admission in different courses, there is a different process that students need to follow. Students seeking admission in the dual degree programmes have to appear for an undergraduate entrance examination which involves,
Two sections,
- Subject Proficiency Test (SUPR) and
- Research Aptitude Test (REAP).
An application form needs to be filled to apply for the exam. Also, it is important to note that students with an aggregate of 60% in physics, chemistry and mathematics in class 10+2 or equivalent qualifying examination are considered eligible for the exam. Similarly, there is a separate admission process for taking admission in postgraduate courses. Further, candidates must check their eligibility before applying for any course at the college.

Apart from featuring a conducive learning environment, IIIT Hyderabad also offers great employment opportunities to its students. It is one of the few schools of engineering in India to have R&D collaborations and research links in large numbers and with prominent technology universities abroad. It prepares students through training in the theoretical and practical aspects of different areas of computer science and information technology. IIIT Hyderabad provides full financial assistance to every admitted student who requires it. Following are the avenues for such assistance:
- State Bank of India (IIIT branch) assures an SBI Scholar student loan to a candidate who secures admission at IIITH for up to Rs. 20 lakh. Also, one can avail of the loan even if the family of the applicant has other existing loans
- The institute’s alumni have set up a fund to assist successfully admitted students based on their financial condition. However, it is offered on a pay-it-forward basis
- Students with family income below Rs. 8 lakh per annum get guaranteed full tuition support. Students, who are above these income criteria, can also apply for the scholarship scheme
- Tuition support is likely to be awarded to them, in the case; the committee finds their case deserving
