Latest News: IGNOU has extended registration for IGNOU Admission to all UG, PG and PhD Courses till April 30.IGNOU has released Hall Tickets for OPENMAT, OPENNET, Post Basic (Nursing) Entrance Exam 2021 on April 6. The entrance exam is scheduled to be held on April 11.
IGNOU Re-Registration January 2021: The re-registration deadline has been extended again till March 31, 2021. Earlier the registration deadline was Feb 28. Candidates can visit the official website to apply for Re-registration for January 2021. Interested candidates with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline can apply for admission in 2021-22 academic session with a registration fee of INR 200.
Result Update: IGNOU December Term-End Examination (TEE) 2020 has been declared today (Feb 23, 2021). Check IGNOU TEE Dec 2020 Result by entering 9-Digit enrolment number at the online result portal (ignou.ac.in).
IGNOU has also started the application process for IGNOU Admission 2021 for overseas students. Interested candidates can visit the official website to apply for the online courses.
Registration to all the courses offered by IGNOU is conducted twice a year i.e in the months of July and December. IGNOU Admission Process
Candidates willing for admissions to various courses by IGNOU are selected o the basis of eligibility for the particular course followed by the Entrance score/ merit required in the examination. For example, selection to MBA program is done on the basis of OPENMAT Score whereas for Nursing Courses IGNOU conducts OPENNET and a prior experience is also required. However, for admission to MA, M.Com, MCA, BA, B.Com courses IGNOU grants admission on the basis of the merit in the last qualifying examination.
IGNOU Admissions: How to Apply?
The registration process for IGNOU is totally online, applicants can visit ignou.ac.in and opt for online registration. Next, the candidate needs to fill in the following OAS page with all the required information and attach all the required documents such as a scanned copy of photo and signature, age proof, and scanned copy of marks sheet and certificates.
IGNOU facilitates students to check their Application status once the application is submitted by simply clicking on the “Know Your Status” Option. The students can also re-register themselves by following a similar process.
Moreover, Foreign students residing in India having a valid student visa are also eligible to apply for various IGNOU Courses. They will be required to pay an international fee applicable to them and apply on ignou.ac.in. However, programs with a limited number of seats are not offered to foreign candidates.
IGNOU Scholarships
IGNOU also offers financial assistance to students belonging to reserved categories viz. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. IGNOU Scholarship and Fee reimbursements are only issued to the students who are financially week or single girl child to their parents. To avail of the scholarships candidates are required to fill the application form on the IGNOU website.
Candidates from rural areas are entitled to a 50% fee concession subject to the production of a domicile certificate. The urban students below the poverty line may be given a 50% fee concession. Moreover, Jail inmates residing and under trial in Indian prisons are also exempted from payment of programme fee, including the registration fee.
IGNOU Placements
IGNOU Placement cell was established in 2005 and since then the university has been successfully conducting placement drives and offering considering placements to students onboard. The Campus Placement Cell (CPC) is further trying to extend its base by introducing various new initiatives like soft skill development.
IGNOU: Assignment, Exam Form, Result/ Grade Card
IGNOU Course assignments are an integral part of the semester wise course structure, holding a 30% weightage in the overall marking scheme.
Moving on, IGNOU requires students to fill in the exam forms for appearing in the Term End Exams (TEE) twice a year. Here, candidates can choose the examinations they wish to appear in the current term and pay accordingly. Once the exams are over, the university releases the Grade Cards of students in online mode.

Ans. The candidates seeking admission can apply through the IGNOU Online admission portal within the stipulated time. Candidates can also re-register for certain UG, PG and Research courses offered by IGNOU before within the stipulated time through the IGNOU re-registration portal. For admission to most of the IGNOU courses offered by the University, candidates are shortlisted for admission on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying degree. However, in the case of some specific courses, the University conducts an admission test for the selection of students.
