The Georgetown University is a highly-ranked private academic and research university that was established in 1789. Notably, the university was initially known as Georgetown College. It is the oldest Catholic and Jesuit educational institution in the U.S. The university is authorized by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It has collaborations with over 300 international partners including Fudan University and Sophia University. Today, it is amongst the leading universities in the world that offer students and staff a unique educational experience.

Situated on the outskirts of Washington D.C., the university has three campuses in the city. The main campus is situated on a hilltop allowing enthralling views of North Virginia and River Potomac flowing nearby. Spread over 104 acres of land, the campus has 54 buildings and student residences. In addition to this, the university campus has expansive green spaces that comprise numerous fountains, clusters of flowers and trees, open courtyards, and a cemetery. Georgetown University also has its campuses in different countries of the world including Doha (Qatar), Alanya (Turkey), and Fiesole (Italy).
