Indian Coast Guard Group C Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification: 

1. Engine Driver –Qualification: Matriculation pass from a recognized Board or Equivalent Essential: Certificate of competency as Engine Driver from a recognized Government Institute or equivalent.Desirable: Two years’ service as Sarang on a Vessel of over four hundred Boat Horse Power.
2. Sarang Lascar –Qualification: Matriculation pass from a recognized Board or Equivalent Essential: Certificate of competency as Sarang from a recognized Government Institute or equivalent.Desirable: Two years experience as Sarang in-charge of a Vessel of twenty Horse Power.
3. Store Keeper Grade II –Essential:(i) 12th pass from recognized Board or University.(ii) One year experience in handling Stores from any recognized firm or Central or State Government organization , or Public Sector Undertakings
4. Civilian Motor Transport Driver (OG) –Essential: (i) 10th Standard pass.(ii) Must possess valid driving license for both heavy and light motor vehicles(iii) Should have atleast two years’ experience in driving motor vehicles.(iv) Knowledge of motor mechanism (should be able to repair minor defects in vehicles)
5. Fireman –Essential:(i) Matriculation pass from a recognized Board or equivalent.(ii) Should be physically fit and capable of performing strenuous duties.
6. ICE Fitter (Skilled) –Essential: (a) Matriculation or equivalent.(b) Should have successfully completed apprenticeship from a recognized / reputed workshop in the relevant trade under Apprentice Act 1961 or under any other recognized Apprentice Scheme.ORShould have completed training course in the relevant trade from an III recognized for this purpose and have 1-year trade experienceOR4 years’ experience in the trade for which no training is available in them or other recognized institutions.c) Should qualify a trade entrance examination.
7. Spray Painter –Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards Essential:  Should have completed apprenticeship in the trade from Industrial Training Institute or other recognized institutions.Desirable:Two year experience in the trade.
8. MT Fitter/ MT Tech/ MT Mech –Essential:(i) Matriculation or equivalent(ii) Two years’ experience in automobile workshopDesirable:  I.T.I. diploma in relevant trade
9. Multi Tasking Staff (Mali) –Essential: (i) Matriculation or equivalent pass.(ii) Two years’ experience as Mali in any nursery / organisation
10. Multi Tasking Staff (Peon) –Essential:  (i) Matriculation or equivalent pass.(ii) Two years’ experience as Office Attendant.
11. Multi Tasking Staff (Daftary) –Essential:  (i) Matriculation or equivalent pass.(ii) Two years’ experience as Office Attendant.
12. Multi Tasking Staff (Sweeper) –Essential:  (i) Matriculation or equivalent pass.(ii) Two years’ experience in deanship in any recognized firm,
13. Sheet Metal Worker (Semi-Skilled) –Essential:  (i) Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards or ITI from recognized institutes.(ii) Three years’ experience in the trade
14. Electrical Fitter (Semi-Skilled) –Essential: (I) Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards or ITI from recognized institutes.(ii) Three years’ experience in the trade.
15. Labourer –Essential:  (i) Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards or ITI from recognised and Revised institutes.(ii) Three years’ experience in relevant field.

Note :

(i) Permissible relaxation in upper age limit is 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC candidates. The Central Govt. servant who have rendered not less than 03 years regular service as on closing date for receipt of application shall be permissible for age relaxation upto 40 years and in case of SC/ST, it shall be 45 years.

(ii) No age and other relaxation will be given to SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates for the posts earmarked only for UR category.

How to apply for Indian Coast Guard Group C Post:  

The applications in the prescribed Proforma at (Annexure I) should be forwarded to the office of The Commander, Coast Guard Region (East), Near Napier Bridge, Fort St George (PO), Chennai – 600 009.. The envelope containing the application must be superscripted as “Application for the post of “. Application should be submitted by Ordinary Post only. Application sent by Speed Post / Registered Post / Courier will not be entertained. Self attested copies of educational certificate, age proof, driving license for CMTD(OG) for both heavy and light vehicles, Trade Certificate as required, certificate for EWS/OBC/SC/S I and experience certificate, if any, should be enclosed with the application. Proforma with regard to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) is placed at Annexure-II. Candidates in Central Govt. Service should submit NOC from their present employer alongwith applications.
