CMC Vellore, was established in the year of 1918 with the purpose to train dedicated persons to run, manage and provide health care in the spirit of Christ through the mission hospitals. The college is permanently affiliated to The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. It offers various UG, PG, and diploma courses focusing on the areas of Medicine, Surgery, and Nursing. CMC Vellore Admission 2019 is done through the entrance examination followed by Interview round. The college also accepts the NEET score for admission to the M.B.B.S. program.

Admission
Registration for admission to CMC Vellore is done through online mode. Those who wish to apply can submit the application form on the official website of the institute.
Candidates should follow the subsequent steps in order to apply for the above-mentioned courses:
Step 1: Visit the official page of CMC (www.admissions.cmcvellore.ac.in) and select the portal for students
Step 2: Click on the very first tab ‘Apply for a course’ and select your desired course
Step 3: Register yourself with a valid contact number and email id.
Step 4: Enter CMC Vellore Login credentials, the application form will appear
Step 5: Fill in the form with correct past-educational details, date of birth, category, etc. and upload scanned photograph and signature within required dimensions.
Step 6: Choose nearby examination centers; 4 centers have to be selected by the candidates.
Step 7: Duly filled forms are supposed to be submitted with payment as per the candidate’s course and category.
MBBS Admission
- Candidates seeking admission to MBBS Program need to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as main subjects.
- The selection is done on the basis of entrance exam NEET UG which is conducted at the national level.
- Shortlisted candidates on the basis of their marks are considered for Interview round. The final selection is done on the basis of the overall performance of the candidate.
Allied Health Science Admission
- Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc., BPT, BPO, BOT, B.Sc. (Nursing) and Diploma courses need to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as main subjects.
- The selection is done on the basis of entrance exam CBT which is conducted by the university.
- Shortlisted candidates on the basis of their marks are considered for a special assessment test followed by Interview round. The final selection is done on the basis of the overall performance of the candidate.
Admission
- Candidates seeking admission to M.Sc.(Nursing), and Post Basic Nursing Diploma need to obtain a minimum of 55% in B.Sc. (Nursing).
- The selection is done on the basis of entrance test conducted by the university.
- Shortlisted candidates on the basis of their marks are considered for interview round. The final selection is done on the basis of the overall performance of the candidate.
Unlike the policy for all other programs, CMC does not have a single Ph.D. admission. Applicants for Ph.D. are selected/ recommended by their guides for Ph.D. registration with whom they usually worked for a period of time before applying for Ph.D. registration.

Results
Students who have appeared in the entrance test conducted by the CMC Vellore for various UG & PG courses like B.Sc, M.Sc, Allied Health Science courses, can check their results online by following the official website. The final seat is offered to the aspirants, after the declaration of result followed by preparation of merit list & counseling process. In order to check the result status, students must know about their roll number & other personal details. All selected students have to submit the following certificates (along with one set of Xerox copy) to confirm their seat during counseling:
- Marks sheet or grade sheet of qualifying examinations
- Passing & eligibility certificate (from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University) of the qualifying exam
- Date of Birth & Community certificate
- Transfer/Migration certificate

Note(s):
- The final merit list is stringently prepared for open & sponsored candidates both. After a briefing of the selection list, two separate merit cum waiting lists are prepared in order to fill the remaining seats. CMC Vellore provides admission to the MBBS program through NEET. After the declaration of merit list, students have to go through the document verification process.
- Sponsored category students of Christian minority have to pass the bible knowledge test of 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s).
Scholarship
Despite the extensive medical services provided by the hospitals and community outreach, the mission statement makes it clear that CMC’s primary concern is education, training, and professional development. There is a commitment to ensure that the cost of education should not be a barrier to anyone desiring to pursue a course at CMC. Students who find it difficult to meet even these low fees are encouraged to apply for scholarships that are available for all undergraduate courses (Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences). Scholarships are awarded according to economic need and cover all or part of the fees and accommodation costs. Scholarships are available for deserving candidates following an assessment.
Facilities
Library: Well stocked medical libraries exist in both the hospital and college campuses. Scientific journals, MEDLINE system for literature search, internet and reprographic facilities are available in the libraries. There is a well-organized Medical Records Library in the institution as well as a departmental records system. Facilities are provided in these areas for trainees to conduct retrospective case studies from the records. Library service also includes online access to reading journals.
Medical Facilities: The town campus houses the main hospital where any of the students can avail of medical facilities as per their needs. CMC has over 9,500 staff, including over 1,799 doctors and 2,947 Nurses. There are 106 wards including 11 ICUs and 6 HDUs. About 76% of the beds are in general wards and are subsidized to reduce the financial burden on patients. There are 39 major operation theatres and a further 14 facilities for minor procedures. An average of 185 operations is carried out each day.
Infrastructure: There are two main campuses – one, the main campus at the heart of Vellore city, and the other at Bagayam, which is about 7 km from the main campus. CMC has over 9,500 staff, including over 1,799 doctors and 2,947 Nurses. Facilities for tennis, badminton, basketball, volleyball, football, cricket, hockey and table tennis are available on the campus itself.
