Anna University,Courses,Cut off,Admissions was established In 1978. Anna University has 13 constituent colleges, 3 regional campuses at Tirunelveli, Madurai and Coimbatore and 593 affiliated colleges (government, government aided and self-financing colleges). The University is recognised by UGC, and is accredited by NAAC by grade ‘A’. Anna University has collaborations with 37 international universities that provide students with excellent opportunities to take part in student exchange programmes.

  • The state university offers high-quality education in the fields of technology, engineering, applied sciences and architecture. It is located in the southern part of Chennai and has three additional regional campuses in Madurai, Tirunelveli and Coimbatore. The educational institution consists of eight faculties. The university offers numerous postgraduate, undergraduate and doctoral programmes.
  • Anna University offers 29 UG and 90 PG programmes in various disciplines in the University departments and 41 UG and 57 PG programmes in affiliated institutions. Over 16,000 students are pursuing their degree programme in the University departments and over 7.20 lakh students are pursuing their degree programme in the affiliated institutions. Admission Process

Controller of Examination (COE) administers the entire admission process of Anna University. All the decisions regarding counselling, seat allotment and fee payment are in the hands of the COE.

  • Candidates can apply for all the courses offered at Anna University in the online mode only
  • Admission to the majority of university’s programmes, including undergraduate engineering courses, is granted on the basis of the score obtained by the candidate in the higher secondary exam
  • Anna University offers UG courses such as BE (Agricultural and Irrigation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Automobile Engineering), BTech (Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Ceramic Technology) and BArch
  • PG courses offered by the university are ME (Structural Engineering, Environmental Management, Aeronautical Engineering, Quality Engineering Management and Software Engineering), MTech (Chemical Engineering, Ceramic Technology, Leather Technology and Textile Technology), M.Arch (Digital Architecture and Landscape Architecture), MSc (Applied Mathematics, Medical Physics and Applied Chemistry), MBA (General and Tourism Management), MPlan and MCA
  • The university offers PhD and MPhil programme with more than 4 specialisations; candidates are selected in the MSc/MPhil programme on the basis of the entrance exam conducted by the university; Also, for enrolling in a PhD programme, a candidate will have to clear a written entrance test followed by a Personal Interview round
  • University holds an entrance exam for giving admission to MPhil and MSc courses
  • Candidates are selected in BE/ BTech programme on the basis of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) counselling
  • For BArch, candidates are selected on the basis of NATA score
  • Those seeking admission to postgraduate engineering courses will be judged as per their performance in  or TANCET
