The university is located in Gainesville, Florida, where it has been operational since September 1906. The University of Florida got an invitation from the Association of American Universities (AAU) in 1985. The AAU is an organization comprising of 62 universities from the USA and Canada.
Spanning across a campus cover of 2,000 acres, the university houses over 900 academic and non-academic buildings within its fences. There are many notable structures present on the campus, including the famous Century Tower. The oldest buildings of the university are structured in Collegiate Gothic style, while the newer erections have been built on modern architecture.
