The University of Hamburg Founded in 1919, is among the most prestigious universities of Germany. The origins of the university date back to 1613 when an intermediary institution called Academic Gymnasium was set up. The university comprises highly-qualified faculty members having wide experience in relevant fields. Furthermore, eminent professors from various foreign universities visit the campus to deliver lectures.

The University of Hamburg boasts of state-of-the-art infrastructure for advanced learning. There are modern laboratories, libraries, computer labs, and other facilities on the campus. Furthermore, the university has several museums and observatories including the Geological-Paleontological Museum. The university maintains 8 faculties that offer more than 70 undergraduate, 117 postgraduate and vocational programs.
