The GATE CCMT 2021: counselling is conducted to provide admission to GATE qualified candidates into the postgraduate programs at NITs and other participating institutes. The authorities have also increased the total number of CCMT participating institutes from 46 to 49.
- The allotment of seats is entirely based on merit, selection of courses and institutes, and availability of seats. Candidates must have a valid GATE Scorecard during the time of counselling process. You can participate in the 2021 counselling process based on your 2019/2020/2021 GATE scores.
- A new feature of online document verification has been introduced by CCMT. After seat allotment and payment of seat acceptance fees, candidates will be required to upload their required documents online.
- Candidates will have to pay the balance admission fee to the respective Institute in the online mode after the successful completion of online document verification.
Important: The Sepcical Round 2 result of GATE CCMT 2020 Counselling for admission into NITs has been released on September 8, 2020, and the last date for Payment of Seat Acceptance Fee, Document uploading, and specifying Willingness is September 11, 2020. Check Here

Eligibility Requirement for GATE CCMT 2021 Counselling?
After the declaration of GATE Result candidates will be able to participate in the counseling process. GATE Cut off will be different for all the colleges and courses. The eligibility criteria for the M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan/M.Des courses are as follows:
- The candidate must score a valid GATE Score on any of the three years (2019/2020/2021).
- As qualifying degree candidates must score a minimum of 6.5 CGPA or 60% (OC/OB categories) or 55% (SC/ST/PwD categories) from a recognized university.
- If the result is yet to be announced for the above instance then the candidate has to produce a valid proof of the document till the pre-final semester of that year at the reporting center during DVC.
- Percentage conversion to CGPA or vice versa is not allowed.
- The course eligibility depends on the combination of degree, streams and GATE exam. Special eligibility is required to become eligible for admission in some institutes.
GATE 2021 CCMT Counselling Process
Counselling Process consists of 5 stages-
Stage 1: Online Registration, Choice Filling, and Locking
- All eligible candidates should register themselves at the CCMT website by paying the requisite registration fee.
- The registration fee of INR 2500/- for OC/OB and INR 2000/- for SC/ST/PwD
- The registration fee is not reusable and would not be in sync with any other fee.
- Read thoroughly all the norms before clicking on the “I agree”checkbox.
- During the choice filling process, you can change, reorder, delete, and add choices of courses till the last date.
Instructions for CCMT New Candidate Registration
- Keep changing the Password at frequent intervals.
- Click the LOGOUT button and close all the windows related to the session, after finishing the work.
- Never share your password. CCMT/NIC doesn’t request for such information by email.
Stage 2: Online Seat Allotment & Seat Acceptance fee deposit
- Based on the order of choices, candidates will be offered seats on merit basis.
- The seat allotment result will be available on the official website of CCMT.
- Candidates will not get individual seat allotment letters. They have to check the same by visiting the official website.
- Aspirants should take a printout of the allotment details (provisional seat allotment letter).
- This letter needs to be produced at the time of reporting.
- Seat Acceptance Fee of INR 30,000 has to be paid to confirm/book he allotted seat.
- Only after payment of seat acceptance fee, the candidate will be able to download the Provisional Seat Allotment Letter.
Stage 3: Online Upload of documents and Submit Willingness
- On allotment of a seat and payment of seat acceptance fee, the candidate will have to upload the required documents. Candidates have to upload the documents by visiting the official website.
- Online verification will be done as per the schedule given on the website or mentioned above in the Regular Round Table.
- Candidates must note that the option of document upload will be enabled only after payment of seat acceptance fee.
Candidates are required to exercise one of the following willingness when they report to the RC:
- Floating: if they wish to be considered in the next round for all of their higher preferred choices.
- Sliding: if they wish to be considered in the next round for their higher preferred choices only within the Institute allotted to them.
- Freezing: if they are satisfied with the currently allotted seat and not interested in their higher preferred choices in the subsequent round.
Stage 4: Online Document Verification
- Document verification will be done by the verifying officer of the respective allotted institute only in the online mode.
- In case of a doubt regarding the documents, the Officer will raise a query to the candidate and the candidate can respond through her/his login.
- The interaction could occur multiple times and candidate will be compulsorily required to submit his clarifications/documents in response to the queries raised by the officer in the stipulated time period.
- If a candidate fails to do so then it will be treated as Not-Reported, and hence her/his seat will be cancelled and candidates will not be considered for seat allotment in subsequent rounds.
- After successful verification of documents, an ODVC will be generated i.e. online verification of documents.
- The ODVC will indicate the personal details of the candidate, details of the Institution and program allotted, details of seat acceptance fee, the willingness (Float or Slide or Freeze) for other rounds of allotment, and status of document verification.
- All the candidates who will get ODVC and have Float or Slide willingness should visit the CCMT website to check the status of their allotted seat in the subsequent rounds of allotment.
Stage 5: Online Admission in the Finally Allotted Institute
- After successful online document verification by the finally allotted institute, the candidates will have to pay the balance admission fee to the respective Institute in the online mode.
- The candidates who are planning to register for Special Rounds are not required to pay the balance fee to the allotted institute.
Rules for GATE CCMT Seat Allocation
Based on GATE Scores, the merit list for seat allocation will be prepared. There may be a case where 2 or more candidates score the same marks, in such case, the following will be considered:
- Candidates having GATE score of 2020 will be given preference over those of 2021.
- If the year of GATE score is the same, then preference will be given to that candidate who has obtained higher GATE marks out of 100.
- In the unlikely event of their GATE marks out of 100 and the year of GATE score is the same, then preference will be based on the All India Rank (AIR).
- In the highly unlikely event of candidates having the same year, marks out of 100, and AIR, then Date of Birth will be considered. Elder candidate will be given preference.
- In the highly unlikely event of Date of Birth is same, then the rank will be decided on the basis of Random number generation.
Seat allotment is based on the Merit list and availability of seat as per filled Choices according to the Government of India (GoI) Reservation norms.

Documents Required for GATE CCMT Counselling
When the seat is allotted to the candidate for the first time in any of the rounds, the candidate has to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee. Candidate has to produce the following documents during reporting at any of the RC:
- Printout of the Registration form and the locked choices.
- Provisional Seat Allotment letter downloaded from the CCMT website
- Self-attested copy of GATE scorecard (2019 or 2020 or 2021)
- Photo ID proof as per Govt. of India norms
- Original Birth certificate Class X (High School) Board Certificate as proof of date of birth
- Original Mark sheet of Class XII
- Original Grade/Mark sheets of the qualifying examination for all semesters
- Original Degree certificate, if completed
- Original Caste Certificate, if applicable.
- Original Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), if applicable.
- OBC-NCL/EWS certificate issued on or after April 1, 2019 will be accepted during online document verification. However, admission offered, if any, will be provisional, and subject to the submission of OBC-NCL/EWS certificate issued on or after April 1, 2021 at the time of physical reporting in the finally allotted Institute.
- Proof of payment of Seat Acceptance fee.
- Three color passport size photographs
- Original Conduct Certificate from the Head of the institution last attended
- Original Transfer certificate from the Head of the institution last attended
Note: If the original certificates are not in English/Hindi version then translation of such certificates, duly certified by the Principal/Director of the graduating Institute, will be required to produce during the verification of documents. The certificate mentioned at Sr. No. xiii if not available at the time of reporting at RC, and then it is to be produced the same at the time of admission to the allotted Institutes.

Counselling Type of Fees
Candidates have to deposit various types of fees like registration fee and seat acceptance fee etc through SBI MOPS using Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or SBI Bank e-Challan. Candidates can check the types of fees applicable:
