IIT Guwahati Admission Process
IIT Guwahati admission cycle generally begins in the month of September for UG programme and March for PG programmes. The applications for all the programmes are accepted through online mode only. The process of admission for all the courses is mentioned below:
- IIT Guwahati BTech admission is offered based on a candidate’s rank in JEE Advanced rank followed by JoSAA Counselling
- CAT score is considered to offer admission to the MBA programme
- Students are admitted to MSc programme through IIT JAM
- The institution grants admission to the MTech programme on the basis of the applicants’ GATE score

Placements
The institute is visited by many well-known organisations for placements. It has a record of over 90% placements every year. The placement is done on the basis of a student’s academic performance and practical knowledge. According to 2019 placements data, the average salary offered was Rs 15.59 LPA. IIT Guwahati placements 2019-20 are still going on. For Phase 1 of placements, 250 companies have registered so far, compared to about 200 companies in the whole of last year (2018-19).
Scholarships
