Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Admission,Course has a unique academic structure that sets it apart from other universities which is currently being followed in its ten schools of Study and four Special Centres of Learning, established so far. The Schools and Special Centres offer various UG, PG and research courses in multiple specializations under the stream of Science, Commerce, Arts etc.
The University usually issues offline Application Forms (by post) during the first or second week of March every year. To promote higher education, every full-time enrolled student of JNU receives financial assistance through various fellowship/scholarship facilities.

The School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies (SLLCS) is the only School of Study that provides a Bachelor’s degree in this University i.e. B.A. (Hons). The course is offered in the following languages – Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Pashto, Russian And Spanish.
The School also offers entry points to both first and second year of this programme. No viva voce examination is held for admission to B.A. (Hons.) first year, but the candidates for admission to B.A. (Hons.) second year are invited for the viva voce examination. In order to be eligible for viva voce examination, a candidate must secure the following marks out of 70 in the written examination for undergraduate courses (only where viva voce is prescribed):

Candidates of all Master’s degree programs of study, except M.A. programs in foreign languages (School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies), are invited for the viva voce examination.
To be eligible to be invited for the viva voce examination, a candidate must secure the following marks out of 70 in the written examination for post-graduate courses (only where viva voce is prescribed):

The JNU provides research facilities (M.Phil./Ph.D., M.Tech./Ph.D., Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D., MPH/Ph.D.) in more than twenty different disciplines. Candidates seeking admission to M.Phil./Ph.D. programs are invited for the viva voce examination.
To be eligible to be invited for the viva voce examination, a candidate must secure the following marks out of 70 in the written examination for doctoral courses:
- General Category: 35% (24.50 marks out of 70)
- OBC: 31.50% (22.05 marks out of 70)
- SC/ST/PH: 25% (17.50 marks out of 70)

The University also admits a limited number of candidates to M.Phil./Ph.D. and Pre-Ph.D. programs, who have qualified a national test entitling them to a Junior Research Fellowship in Science Schools, without appearing in the Entrance Examination.
Only those candidates who have scored at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree and have qualified a national level test entitling them to a Junior Research Fellowship are eligible for admission. The candidates are selected on the basis of viva-voce examination only and no entrance examination is prescribed by the University.
