The TNAU was established in 1868 in Chennai, however, in 1906 the university campus was relocated to Coimbatore. TNAU offers ten undergraduate degree programmes in Science and Technology in 14 constituent colleges and 27 affiliated (private) colleges in entire Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, TNAU also offers 40 PG courses and six doctoral programmes in 14 Colleges distributed in 11 campuses all over Tamil Nadu.

TNAU has about a total of 36 36 Research Centres for Agrotechnology development and 14 Farm Science Centres. TNAU ranked 68th and 44th in Overall and Universities categories and ranked 105th in QS-BRICS. As an established research-intensive university, TNAU has an excellent network with reputed national and international institutes for the student exchange programme.

  Admission Process

• Applications to TNAU UG and PG courses are done online
• For admissions to TNAU undergraduate programmes, candidates must have clear Class 12 with the mandatory subjects as mentioned at the university website and based on Online Counselling
• For admissions to TNUA master’s and doctoral programmes, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree with a specialisation in agriculture studies

Courses

TNAU offers both BSc and BTech with multiple specialisations as its undergraduate programmes. Currently, TNAU is offering ten UG programmes of four-year duration each. Furthermore, PG in TNAU is a very special experience. The courses are offered on the university campus and in its constituent colleges.

• TNUA provides excellent opportunities for internships in companies. Internships are done for three months in the final year of the respective course.
